The Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Evansville Memorial Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season. They blew past Purdue Polytechnic 79-44 on the road. Given Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Purdue Polytechnic is ranked 60th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

The game was Haywood's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Austin Ford, who scored nine points along with three steals.

Meanwhile, Evansville Memorial was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 58-54 to Terre Haute North Vigo.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tucker Tornatta, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. He scored a full 33.3% of Evansville Memorial's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylen Kendrick, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Evansville Memorial, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 29.1 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Evansville Memorial, though, as they've been averaging only 26.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
