Soccer Game Preview: Jefferson County vs. Oak Ridge

Jefferson County hasn't had much luck against Oak Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Patriots will face off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Jefferson County has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Jefferson County came up short against Sevier County and fell 5-3. While losing is never fun, Jefferson County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Sevier County are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Oak Ridge faced off against Knoxville Central on Monday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 1-0.

Oak Ridge's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-8-1. As for Jefferson County, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-6-1.
