Recap: Jim Thorpe Olympians vs. Panther Valley Panthers
The Jim Thorpe Olympians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They lost to Panther Valley on the road by a decisive 69-53 margin. That's two games in a row now that Jim Thorpe has lost by exactly 16 points.
Leading Panther Valley to victory were Chase Weaver and Stephen Hood. Weaver dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Hood dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hood has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Kokinda, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Jim Thorpe bumped their record down to 1-15 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Panther Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Jim Thorpe will be playing at home against Lehighton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Panther Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Pine Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
