Baseball Recap: Mercyhurst Prep's Undefeated Season over After 12 Games

If Mercyhurst Prep was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Middle Township on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lakers fell just short of the Freedom Christian Academy Patriots by a score of 5-4 on Friday. The matchup marked the Lakers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

On the hitting side, Zack Kruszewski made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ethan Ishimaru, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mercyhurst Prep fell to 11-1. As for Freedom Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-5.
