The Pender Patriots will challenge the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pender is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Pender took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against South Columbus by a score of 9-5.

Pender's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Katie Iddings, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Jayda Tozour also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Fairmont was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 10-0 to South Brunswick.

Pender's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-2. As for Fairmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything went Pender's way against Fairmont in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Pender made off with a 17-9 win. Will Pender repeat their success, or does Fairmont have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
