Recap: Kankakee Valley Kougars vs. La Porte Slicers

The Kankakee Valley Kougars pushed their score all the way to 64 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 72-64 to La Porte, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Kankakee Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kankakee Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jeremiah Jones, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Webster, who scored 16 points along with two steals.

It was another big night for Nic Spence, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds for La Porte. Dylan Salisbury was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.

Kankakee Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for La Porte, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kankakee Valley has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Twin Lakes at 7:45 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Twin Lakes focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday. As for La Porte, they will be playing at home against Merrillville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
