Basketball Recap: Midtown Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Jackson came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Midtown, but Hailey Wortmann wouldn't allow it. The Midtown Knights walked away with a 59-50 victory over the Jackson Jaguars on Tuesday thanks in part to Wortmann, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was her third in a row with at least ten points.

Devin Bockman was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Jackson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cayden Cornish, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Janiyah Weaver, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards.

Midtown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. As for Jackson, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6.

Midtown will head out to face off against Pace Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Midtown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.5 points per game this season.
