Basketball Game Preview: Alpine Bucks vs. Balmorhea Bears

The Alpine Bucks will challenge the Balmorhea Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Alpine sitting on five straight wins and Balmorhea on six.

On Tuesday, Alpine earned a 66-59 victory over Kermit.

Meanwhile, Balmorhea was able to grind out a solid win over Sierra Blanca on Tuesday, taking the game 50-38.

Alpine pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Balmorhea, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Alpine strolled past Balmorhea in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 39-22. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alpine since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
