Independence has gone a perfect 10-0 against Yerba Buena recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The 76ers will look to defend their home field against the Aztec Warriors at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Independence has six straight wins, Yerba Buena has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Independence made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hill, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The 76ers put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 17-1 victory on Friday. Considering the 76ers have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Julieta Ramirez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Independence got a massive performance out of Skylar Crowell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Crowell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Sanchez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Independence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Yerba Buena's offense. They lost 15-0 to Evergreen Valley on Friday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Aztec Warriors were not able to get on the board.
Independence's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Yerba Buena, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Everything went Independence's way against Yerba Buena when the teams last played back in March, as Independence made off with a 20-5 win. Will the 76ers repeat their success, or do the Aztec Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
