Baseball Recap: Franklin County Rebels vs. DeKalb County Tigers
Franklin County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They never let the DeKalb County Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rebels as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Samuel Vincent was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin McBee, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Taylor Austin was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
DeKalb County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
