Heath is a perfect 3-0 against Zanesville since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Heath is leaving town to face Zanesville after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Bulldogs took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Olentangy Berlin on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.
Kyndall Spicer and Sydney Cottrell did some serious damage despite the final result: Spicer went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double, while Cottrell got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run. Meanwhile, Zanesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Cambridge, falling 11-1.
Heath took their win against Zanesville in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 11-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
