Moffat County is 10-0 against Basalt since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Moffat County Bulldogs will face off against the Basalt Longhorns at 5:30 p.m. Moffat County will be strutting in after a victory while Basalt will be coming in after a loss.

Moffat County took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 44-31 win over Grand Valley. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Moffat County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mena Tucker led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to five assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlyn Adams, who posted 11 points.

Moffat County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Basalt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Montrose and fell 52-15. The Longhorns were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-1.

Moffat County's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-5. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.1 points per game. As for Basalt, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Everything came up roses for Moffat County against Basalt in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 50-18 victory. In that contest, Moffat County amassed a halftime lead of 31-5, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
