Recap: Timberlake Tigers vs. Sandpoint Bulldogs
The Timberlake Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 70-61 to Sandpoint. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tyler Engelson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Engelson pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Braden r. Mcdougall, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Timberlake were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Timberlake has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Sandpoint, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Genesis Prep Academy the next time they take the court. Sandpoint will host Genesis Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Timberlake will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
