Soccer Game Preview: Hallettsville vs. Palacios

Hallettsville and Palacios are an even 3-3 against one another since February of 2023, but likely not for long. The Hallettsville Brahmas will head out to square off against the Palacios Sharks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hallettsville will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Palacios better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Hallettsville really gets things going. Hallettsville blew past Wharton 3-0 on Tuesday. Considering the Brahmas have won eight games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Palacios didn't have quite enough to beat Calhoun on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Hallettsville's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Palacios, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Hallettsville took their victory against Palacios in their previous matchup on February 4th by a conclusive 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hallettsville since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
