Softball Recap: East Jackson Comes Up Short

East Jackson couldn't beat Morenci on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Trojans came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 19-6. The Trojans' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Khloee Gettings stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Savannah Macguiness was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

East Jackson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Morenci, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Jackson will take on Hanover-Horton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Comets have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Morenci, they are taking a road trip to challenge Waldron at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
