Basketball Game Preview: Clarke County Eagles vs. Luray Bulldogs

Clarke County and Luray are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. The Clarke County Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Luray Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clarke County is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

On Tuesday, Clarke County blew past Page County, posting a 51-17 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, Luray was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They were beaten by Central Woodstock 53-22. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Clarke County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points per game. As for Luray, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Everything came up roses for Clarke County against Luray in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 62-24 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clarke County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
