Basketball Recap: West Craven Comes Up Short

West Craven lost against North Pitt back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The West Craven Eagles took a 73-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Pitt Panthers. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Loss or not, West Craven got some senior leadership from Jimmie West lll and Colby Fernandez. West lll dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Fernandez went 5-for-8 en route to 13 points. The match was West lll's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Abrams, who posted nine points.

West Craven's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for North Pitt, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-16 record this season.

West Craven didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-49 loss against SouthWest Edgecombe on the 14th. As for North Pitt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 82-67 defeat against Farmville Central on the 14th.
