Basketball Recap: Youssef Alhamzawi's Big Game Can't Quite Lead American Youth Academy over Florida College Academy

American Youth Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Florida College Academy Falcons an easy 66-44 win. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-56 back in November.

American Youth Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Youssef Alhamzawi, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Firas Othman, who had ten points.

American Youth Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Florida College Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

American Youth Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-44 victory against Cristo Rey Tampa on the 18th. Florida College Academy has also already played their next contest, a 57-23 win against Geneva Classical Academy on the 17th.
