Baseball Game Preview: Howell Vikings vs. Christian Brothers Cadets

The Howell Vikings will face off against the Christian Brothers Cadets at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Howell will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

Six must be Howell's lucky number: they beat Parkway South with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Vikings skirted past the Patriots 6-4.

Christian Brothers had lost two consecutive heartbreakers to Jackson and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. The Cadets fell just short of the Fighting Indians by a score of 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Cadets in their meetings with the Fighting Indians: they've now lost five in a row.

Corde Gage made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Howell pushed their record up to 31-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Christian Brothers, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.

Howell came out on top in a nail-biter against Christian Brothers in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cadets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
