Basketball Game Preview: Chilton Tigers vs. Oconto Blue Devils

The Chilton Tigers will challenge the Oconto Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Chilton took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Saturday. They came out on top against Ripon by a score of 59-48. Given Chilton's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Ripon is ranked 359th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Oconto entered their tilt with Oconto Falls on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They secured a 64-59 W over the Panthers.

Oconto pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Chilton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Chilton beat Oconto 51-43 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Will Chilton repeat their success, or does Oconto have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
