Though New Mexico football teams have played just two games so far in 2016, a good case can be made for at least seven teams who have been the offensive leaders, according to statistics compiled weekly by MaxPreps. With a heavy emphasis on points and total yards gained, we give Los Lunas the No. 1 ranking at this time. The Tigers rank No. 1 in total yards gained (1,023), No. 2 in points (99), are No. 3 in rushing and No. 6 in both passing and receiving.

Miyamura (Gallup) is second with thirds in total yards and points, fourth in rushing and 11th in passing and receiving yards.



We rank Clovis third, Hatch Valley (Hatch) fourth, Socorro fifth, Aztec sixth and Laguna Acoma (New Laguna) seventh. Laguna Acoma presents an interesting case, because it actually is No. 1 with 110 points (60-6 and 50-0 wins), but is only No. 22 with 495 total yards.
