Basketball Recap: Mile High Academy Has No Trouble Against Ascent Classical Academy

Mile High Academy lost to Ascent Classical Academy back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Mustangs took down the Guardians 46-29.

Despite the loss, Ascent Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Vann Rogers, who posted 14 points in addition to six boards and six steals. That was a full 48.3% of the Guardians' points, marking the fourth time in a row Rogers has scored more than a third of the team's points.

The victory got Mile High Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Ascent Classical Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mile High Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Weldon Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2026. As for Ascent Classical Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
