Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Green County's 12th in Last 16 Outings

Green County's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Glasgow Scotties, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Scotties back in March, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Houston Hodges spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits.

At the plate, Green County's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cash Jones, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one double. Those four hits gave Jones a new career-high.

Green County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Green County is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Glasgow, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-21-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green County will head out to take on Adair County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glasgow, they will venture away from home to challenge Russellville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
