Volleyball Recap: Highland Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Highland can now relate to. They fell just short of the Morro Bay Pirates by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Scots just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Highland sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 19-25, 25-20, 19-25, 16-14.

Despite the loss, Highland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mia Phelps had 14 digs and nine aces. Those nine aces set a new season-high mark for Phelps. Another player making a difference was Madalyn Gonzalez, who had 14 digs and two assists.

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 13-18-3. As for Morro Bay, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-24.

Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morro Bay, they will challenge Coalinga at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
