Baseball Recap: Presque Isle Comes Up Short

Presque Isle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Caribou Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 two weeks ago.

Presque Isle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Wood, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Wood has hit this season.

Presque Isle's record now sits at 6-9. As for Caribou, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Presque Isle will square off against Mount Desert Island at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Caribou, they will take on Old Town at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Coyotes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
