Softball Recap: Sandwich Find Success

While Sandwich's win against Woodstock wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians skirted past the Blue Streaks 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Indians as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Aubrey Cyr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jillian Freemon, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Sandwich lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The win got Sandwich back to even at 6-6. As for Woodstock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Coincidentally, Sandwich and Woodstock will both be playing Woodstock North the next time they take the field. The Blue Streaks will head out to face the Thunder on Saturday, while the Indians will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
