Softball Game Preview: Simeon Wolverines vs. Morgan Park Mustangs

For the second straight game, Simeon will face off against Morgan Park. The Wolverines will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Simeon has given up an average of 15.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Simeon headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Morgan Park let them put that streak behind them. The Wolverines walked away with an 18-13 victory over the Mustangs on Tuesday. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mia Holcombe was a standout: she scored three runs and stole ten bases while going 2-for-4. Those ten stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ariyah Black was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, eight stolen bases, and three RBI.

Simeon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morgan Park only posted a batting average of .034.

Simeon's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Morgan Park, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
