St. Vincent de Paul extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Saturday, bumping them up to 2-0. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 27-21 W against the American Canyon Wolves. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Mustangs were down 21-7 in the third quarter.

St. Vincent de Paul's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Casanovas, who rushed for 79 yards and one TD, and also threw for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Mason Caturegli was another key rusher, gaining 115 total yards and two touchdowns.

St. Vincent de Paul didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Brody Breen. St. Vincent de Paul got some further help from CJ Perez: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

As for American Canyon, their record now sits at 1-1. They were up 21-7 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

American Canyon lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Isaac Anderson, who rushed for 96 yards and one score on only 12 carries. American Canyon also got a significant boost from Andre Lopez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.

St. Vincent de Paul has already played their next game, a 61-0 victory against Lowell on the 13th. As for American Canyon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 28-9 win against Benicia on the 12th.
