Basketball Game Preview: West Side Pirates vs. Soda Springs Cardinals

West Side is 0-10 against Soda Springs since December of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The West Side Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Soda Springs Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. West Side is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Last Wednesday, West Side earned a 43-33 victory over Declo.

West Side got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Miley Cundick out in front who went 7 for 17 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and five blocks. The dominant performance gave Cundick a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Bentley Cundick, who posted eight points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Soda Springs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Aberdeen 48-28 on Wednesday.

Soda Springs' victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for West Side, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.

West Side might still be hurting after the 54-29 loss they got from Soda Springs when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can West Side avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
