Basketball Recap: Lubbock Takes a Loss

Lubbock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 58-44 fall against the Coronado Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Westerners of the 70-53 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Lubbock's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Coronado, their win bumped their record up to 5-13.

Lubbock and Coronado could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Lubbock (ranked 697th) will meet Plainview (ranked 264th) at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Coronado will square off against Tascosa at 5:30 p.m. on Friday down 719 places (830 vs. 111).
