Football Game Preview: Corry Beavers vs. Fairview Tigers

The Corry Beavers will take on the Fairview Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corry will be strutting in after a win while Fairview will be coming in after a defeat.

On Thursday, Corry didn't have too much trouble with North East as they won 34-16. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Beavers.

Blake Cook was nothing short of spectacular: he picked up 215 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Those 215 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Jackson, who picked up 56 receiving yards and two TDs.

Corry didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gavin Greer, Cook, and Chris Bemis picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Fairview came up short against Fort LeBoeuf on Friday and fell 32-21. The Tigers were down 29-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Corry will have to keep a close watch on Joey O'Reilly and Caden Oldach, a pair of players who had a big impact on Fairview's prior game. O'Reilly rushed for 41 yards and three touchdowns, while Oldach rushed for 105 yards on only 14 carries. Oldach also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Fairview dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Corry, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Corry against Fairview in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 40-7 win. Will the Beavers repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
