Volleyball Recap: Ritenour Huskies vs. Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience Owls
Ritenour was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience Owls. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Ritenour wouldn't go down easily and took Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-14, 16-25, 25-21, 15-12.
James Chan paced Ritenour's offense, picking up 16 kills. Chan got some help from Vince Dungo and his 21 assists. Dungo was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.
Ritenour's loss dropped their record down to 2-15-1. As for Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10-1.
Ritenour wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Pattonville on the 7th. As for Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Hazelwood West on the 6th.
