Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greeneville). They came out on top against the North Greene Huskies on Friday by a score of 23-10 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Greene Devils haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Kyla Jobe was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaley Garland, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
Greeneville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .512. They are 6-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Greeneville's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for North Greene, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greeneville will venture away from home to take on Jefferson County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Greene, they will head out to challenge Unicoi County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
