Baseball Game Preview: Hoosic Valley Hawks vs. Tamarac Bengals

For the second straight game, Hoosic Valley will face off against Tamarac. The Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bengals at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Hoosic Valley and Tamarac, and Tamarac kept the tradition alive. The Hawks lost 14-5 to the Bengals on Monday.

For Tamarac's part, CJ Hawk made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Hawk also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Tamarac is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise. Hawk was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Plante, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keegan Blakesley, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Tamarac kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Hoosic Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Tamarac, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
