Volleyball Recap: Corydon Central Panthers vs. Henryville Hornets

Corydon Central had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it eight. They came up short against the Henryville Hornets, falling 3-0. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Jordin McCarty paced Corydon Central's offense, picking up eight kills. McCarty got some help from Khloe Kraft and her 19 assists. Violet Gerdon controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

As for Henryville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Henryville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Logsdon, who had ten kills, seven digs, and five blocks. The dominant performance also gave Logsdon a new career-high in assists (two). Lylia Martin was another key player, getting 31 assists.

Corydon Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Loogootee on the 6th. As for Henryville, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Eastern on the 4th.
