Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lincoln-Way Central couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the St. Rita Mustangs by a score of 31-28 on Saturday. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
It was another big night for Brandon Johnson Jr., who rushed for 109 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries for St. Rita. Johnson Jr. is becoming a predictor of the Mustangs' success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't).
