Basketball Recap: Addeline Sanders Key Part of a Team Effort in Indians Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fairfield, Lawrenceville was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They took down the Murphysboro Red Devils 62-44. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their 20-point performance the match before.

Lawrenceville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addeline Sanders, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Sanders a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Hughes, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Sanders wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Lawrenceville was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Lawrenceville's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Murphysboro, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
