Baseball Recap: Upperman's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Upperman unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 10-6 to the Hendersonville Commandos.

Upperman saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Wirsing, who scored a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Wirsing a new career-high. Justin Fallon also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Wirsing wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Upperman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for Upperman: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.6.

Upperman's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Hendersonville, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Upperman is taking a road trip to take on Riverdale at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hendersonville, they will be playing at home against Green Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
