2A-1 Region III District 12 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Whitney moved up to 922 from 968 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A-1 Region III District 12. A 41-28 win over the Wildcats helped the Wildcats improve their standing.
Whitney's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chad Hundley threw for 45 and one touchdown and Gavin Bean had 20 yards receiving. On the ground Ben Freeman chipped in 114 yards.
Grandview's Ryan Breton and Colby Lee have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Breton has thrown for 953 yards this season, while Lee has 34 catches for 474 yards. Judge Wolfe from Palmer leads the league in rushing with 621 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bulldogs take on Clifton. Palmer is in third place, while the Cubs are in seventh place.
The Zebras led 2A-1 Region III District 12 in scoring this week after putting up 69 points on Maypearl.
