Basketball Preview: Conifer Lobos vs. Pomona Panthers
After four games on the road, Conifer is heading back home. They will take on the Pomona Panthers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Wednesday, Conifer lost to the Lions on the road by a decisive 55-40 margin.
Defeat or not, Conifer got some senior leadership from Ely Miller and Jordan Zitkus. Miller scored 16 points along with four steals, while Zitkus. scored eight points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Pomona's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell to Golden 67-61. While losing is never fun, Pomona can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Demons are ranked 66th).
Conifer has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Pomona, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.
