Softball Recap: Saegertown Takes a Loss

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Saegertown was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cambridge Springs Devils. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Hailey Obenrader spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Saegertown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddy Pratt, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Saegertown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Cambridge Springs, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Saegertown will take on Rocky Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cambridge Springs, they have already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Sharpsville on the 18th.
