Hoosier Hills recap September 24, 2013

Jennings County scaled the state rankings by moving to 200 from 249 this week, the biggest jump in Hoosier Hills. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of besting Madison 13-9.

Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Columbus East beat New Albany 48-20,. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.

Jennings County's dynamic duo of Conner Byram and Nick Nixon proved to be unstoppable against the Cubs, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Byram threw for 236 yards and Nixon had 106 yards receiving. Keegan Beineke helped Jennings County's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 74 yards.

Dustin Roller's team's dynamic duo of Byram and Nixon proved tough for Madison to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Byram put up the best numbers through the air as the Panthers defeated Patric Morrison's team.

Markell Jones was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 208 yards as Columbus East bested the Cubs. Christian Wichman also contributed to the rushing game with 95 yards on the ground.

Nixon was the best wideout in Hoosier Hills this week as the Panthers defeated Madison.

Floyd Central's Colton Kimm and Austin Carl have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Kimm has thrown for 830 yards this season, while Carl, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 12 catches for 244 yards. Tuwan Payton from the Bulldogs leads the league in rushing with 1,278 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bob Gaddis' team takes on the Highlanders. The Olympians are in first place, while Floyd Central is in third place.

Jennings County and the Cubs played the closest game in the league this week, with Jennings County eventually emerging with a 13-9 victory. Byram during the win.
