Recap: Astronaut War Eagles vs. Odyssey Charter School Titans
The Astronaut War Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight loss. They fell to Odyssey Charter School 36-31. Astronaut was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Odyssey Charter School apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Odyssey Charter School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalia DeJesus-Bruno, who scored nine points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Christiana Patterson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Astronaut's loss was their eighth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-14. As for Odyssey Charter School, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Astronaut and Merritt Island will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Merritt Island is ranked 615th, while Astronaut is ranked 622nd). As for Odyssey Charter School, they will be playing in front of their home fans against John Carroll Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
