Volleyball Recap: Moapa Valley Takes a Loss

Moapa Valley lost against The Meadows School back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pirates fell 3-1 to the Mustangs.

The final score came out to 25-14, 23-25, 25-15, 25-18.

Mckenzie Matheson paced Moapa Valley's offense, picking up seven kills. Matheson got some help from Phoebe Leavitt and her 15 assists. Matheson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Moapa Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-19 record this season. As for The Meadows School, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-5.

Moapa Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus on the 8th. As for The Meadows School, after both having extra time off, they and Virgin Valley will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th.
