Basketball Recap: Lakeland Preparatory Takes a Loss

After flying high against KIPP Collegiate last Tuesday, Lakeland Preparatory came back down to earth. The Lakeland Preparatory Lions'2024 ended with a 58-43 loss against the White House-Heritage Patriots on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Patriots are ranked 106th).

Leading White House-Heritage to victory were Noah Green and Deacon Thompson. Green dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards, while Thompson posted 14 points. That's the most rebounds Green has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Daniel Eden, who had six points.

Lakeland Preparatory's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for White House-Heritage, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Lakeland Preparatory won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fairview at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lakeland Preparatory is facing Fairview at the right time seeing as Fairview is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for White House-Heritage, they and Russellville will face off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
