The Griswold Wolverines are taking a road trip to take on the Ledyard Colonels at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Griswold is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Wheeler with a sharp 13-1 victory on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Wolverines with their most commanding win of the season.
Aubrey Eliasson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Eliasson was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bella Bruno, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelynn Walters, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Ledyard came out on top against Stonington on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Colonels narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bears 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Colonels.
Alexia Lemmon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Julia Bonser was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Faith Dalton, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Ledyard hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stonington struck out six times.
Griswold's record is now 5-14. As for Ledyard, their record now sits at 11-8.
Griswold suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Ledyard in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
