Baseball Recap: Waurika Comes Up Short

Waurika was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Velma-Alma Comets. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Comets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-4 loss on Friday.

Waurika's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Velma-Alma, the win snapped their losing streak at ten games and leaves them with a 2-11 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Comets beat Waurika by a score of 5-4 later that day.
