Basketball Game Preview: Turpin Cardinals vs. Goodwell Eagles

The Turpin Cardinals will face off against the Goodwell Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Turpin has three straight victories, Goodwell has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

It was a proper cat-fight when Turpin challenged Boise City on Monday. Turpin came out on top against Boise City by a score of 60-51. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Goodwell took a blow against Felt on Monday, falling 66-36.

Turpin is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Goodwell, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12-1.

Everything came up roses for Turpin against Goodwell when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured an 81-31 win. Does Turpin have another victory up their sleeve, or will Goodwell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
