Basketball Recap: Weeki Wachee Piles Up the Points Against Hudson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Weeki Wachee). They blew past the Hudson Cobras, posting a 61-20 victory. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Joelys Rodriquez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 20 points in addition to eight assists and eight steals. Rodriquez is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rayana Coleman, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Layla Richardson and Sydniemarie Johnson certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Richardson had six points, while Johnson posted six points.

Weeki Wachee is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.5 points per game. As for Hudson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Weeki Wachee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-38 win against Citrus on the 10th. As for Hudson, they will challenge Angeline Academy of Innovation at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
