Volleyball Recap: Greenwich Starts Season with Win on the Road

Greenwich had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Southington Blue Knights with a sharp 3-0 win. This was payback for the Cardinals, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Greenwich didn't let Southington take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23, 25-22.

Greenwich found their leader in sophomore Bailee Dayon, who had 12 digs and four assists.

Coming up, Greenwich will challenge Newtown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Southington, they will face off against South Windsor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
